RAILWAY STATION APPROACHES.
(To the Editor of the Herald.) - Sir, — May I crave a small space m your columns to draw the attention of the rail, way authorities to . the bad state of the road leading to tlieir goods shed. I have heard nearly every carter m Gisborne complain about it, and considering,' the amount of traffic over that particular road I think it is high time the railway authorities improved matters, and considered the carters_ji little. In concluding, I might say tliat one of my carts took a load down yesterday for the 4 p.m. train m plenty of time for consignment, but unfortunately got stuck half-way between the gate and sned, and the carter had to carry it the rest of the way, thereby miss- ! ing the train, to the great inconvenience lof both consignee and consignor. Hop- | ing this will do some good, — I am, etc., CARTER.
