Medium and wasty crossbreds are sjow of sale. .The. following were the average prices-- realised. for the lleeoe portions of the clips named : Teohu lOJd. Pakipaki lOId, Hamilton Downs lOjjd, . Flat Point lid. The tallow stock is 10,790 casks. The imports were 7531 casks, delivery 4334 casks. June and July wheat sold at* 32s 3d. At the wool auctions (second day) there was a spirited sale. Prices wero very firm at the opening rates. WELLINGTON, this day. The Department of Industries and Commerce have, received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated Lon- ; don, Ist inst..: '.'The -wool sales have com- 1 menced. . There is a large attendance of buyers and active competition. Prices for. merinos and fine crossbreds of all grades are firm. Prices for medium and coarse crossbreds arc slightly lower."
