Achilleion, the white marble palace built for the late Eriipress Elizabeth, of Austria, atiCorfit, at a cost of 1,000,000, has been purchased by a Swiss-German syndicate, which will convert it into a hoteland sanatorium. The palace, which contains 128 rooms and a chapel, is situated m. fine grounds plahted with 25,000 rose trees. In 1896, when the Empress left her palace for the last, time, it is 6aid that she burst into tears, and said to one of the ladies of her suite : "Something m my heart tells me that I shall never return here again." She was murdered at Genera soon after.
