♦ ; ANNUAL MEETING, vt The Annual meeting of the East Coast Mounted Rifles was held on Saturday evening. Captain Tombleson presided; and there was an "attendance of thirty members. . The balance-sheet presented was of a satisfactory nature. The corps earned £203 capitation during the year, and £16 for daylight parades. New members were elected as follow : — M. Colebrook, O. Smith, G. Woodward, L. Cook. Patterson, Bloore, Himiona, Katipa,'J. S. Wauchop. The election of -officers resulted as follows :-- J Ge ieral comnubtee, Sergeants Zachariah, Fairlie, Witters, Oates, Corporals Kinder and Coie ; firing committee, Sergeants Zachariah, Fairlie, Corporals Kinder, Cole, Trooper Beatson, and Lieut. Evans (hon . sec*). Lieut. Hamilton was re-elected secretary, and Corporals O'Meara 4nd Kinder* auditors. It was decideu to hold the annual ball on June 21st. The general committee, with power to add to their number, were deputed to carry out arrangements. After discuss' on it was resolved to go into camp, for the annual week's training, from May 23rd to 30th. • The site will most probably be at Makauri. While m camp the squadron will be inspected by Colonel Davies, Inspector-General of Forces. SHOOTING. The corps fired off the first round for Mr Hutchinson's cup on Thursday and Saturday last at Alakauri.
