Trade for all classes is very slow, and prices are barely maintained. Canterbury mutton is quoted at 3|d and North Island 3gd. 'lhe lamb market is steady, and there is a good demand for -J all lamb. Light weights are quoted at s£d for Canterbury brands, other sid ; heavy weights, Canterbury 54d, other 4|d. The beef market is quiet but firm, and quotations are 3^d and 3a for hind and forequarters respectively. The butter market is dull, owinft to the poor demand experienced. Choice New Zealand is at 975, Argentine 965, Siberian 90s; and Danish 101s. The cheese marfcfet is steady at 625. The liemp market is quiet, at a decline. Good, lair grade, on spot, is quoted at £33 10s, April to Juno shipments '£33; fair grade, on spot, £30; , April to Juno shipment, £29 10s. Fair current Manila, on spot, is at £38. The cocksfoot seed market is quiet, and btvyers are not keen to do business, as they are waiting for reports concerning the American crop. Bright, clean New Zealand seed (171 b) is at 52s per cwt. Quotations for Bradford tops are as follow: 36's low cfossbreds, Is 4^d} 40'g, low crossbreds, Is 51d; 44's, medium crossbreds, Is 7d; 50's, halfbreds, Is 9Jd. The market 13, steady.
