BRISBANE, Aug. 28. The general elections yesterday resulted m an overwhelming victory for the Morgan-Labor coalition. A good many returns are incomplete, but only m one or two cases can they affect the result. As the figures stand at present, the Labor party has increased its strength from 23 to 35, while the Morgonites increased from 13 to 21, m both cases representing a corresponding loss to tlie Opposition, who secured only 15 seats. A feature of the ©lection was the defeat of Rut-ledge (Leader of the Opposition), Cribb, Foxton, and Dalrymple, all of whom held portfolios m the Pliilp Government.
