ANTI-SCARLATINA SERUM.
PARIS, Dec. 3. Considerable success has attended the experiments made with _ the new antiscarlatina serum discovered by Dr Moser, a Viennese physician. At Xhe children's hospital m Vienna it was tried .exclusively on patients m the most daiigerous stage ' of the disease. ; All the children who. were treated with \ injections of the serum within forty-eight hourjs of the outbreak of the disease recovered. But with those who .only arrived at the hospital' three, four, or six days after* the appearance of the first ; symptoms it was less effective. I The mortality m these cases varied from 9 ; >to 50 per cent., according to the stage of ' the disease. ■ ". ; The Revue; which gives these details, ' states that Dr Escherich, the well-known \ '• Germain authority on children's diseases, who has experimented with Dr Mover's | serum, confirms tire statements made by 1 the discoverer of the new remedy.
