FIRE AT A SANATORIUM.
TEN LIVES LOST. " CHICAGO, June 14. A fire here at nuon jestcrday destroyed the"Sanatorium of St. Lukes Society. Nine men and one woman, were killed •and-30 injurod, seAeial fatally. The greater puition of Uie patients, numbering 60, weio heekiug a cure for the drink and duig habit, and when the fire broke out a number of delirium tre-niens-patients, weie strapped to their beds on the fifth.floor. Some of these it vat impossible to save. The authorities are making investigations regarding the fiic, especially as to the allegations that patients iveie strapped down to their beds and that there were insufficient attendants. Eight arrests were made at night in connection with the disaster. Three of the mjuied will piobably sue- | cunib.
