The Jockey Club has increased the added money for the ensuing season. The principal races affected are: The Derby, with £750 added to it ; the Plate, with £600; Randwick Plate, £500; and Cumberland Stakes, £500.
At Stratford yesterday Lady Belle won the Cup and Flying, paying £5 8a in the former and' £20 14s in. the latter. King Edward won the Fanner's Plate (£4 4s), St. Ada the Welter £4 19s), Sophia the Borough Stakes (£4 12s), and Haydn the St. Patrick's Handicap £1 18s). At Horowhenua yesterday Ihe Cup was won by Art Jewel, paying £15 16s. At Ohinemuri, Bacchus won the Maiden, div. 19s; Forty-seven the Hurdles, div. 19s, Takapuna the Karangahake Handicap, div. £1 16s ; lota the Pony Race, div. £2 3s, and Volee the Cup. div. £1 17s. v
