The New Zealand Lo«vn and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports havr ing held its sale of live stock at Matowhero Yards on Friday, March 15th. In spite of the very wet j day, the attendance was large, and the yards were taxed to their very utmost holding capacity. Sheep: We yarded 4244, and sold 3063. For all lines of good sound sheep the demand was maintained, and prices showed no decline. Buyers seemed disinclined to touch lines of lambs, but for farmers who have suitable pasture, lambs appear good buying, and, exhibit larger prospective than any other class of sheep. We quote sales as follows: Two-tooth ewes, smalt, 10s 3d to 10s 9d ; sound mouth ewes, 8s to 8s 9d ; cull ewes, 4s lOd to 6s 7d; ewes m forward condition, 9s lOd ; wethers, mixed ages, 10s 6d (the lines, offered were rather small, and mixed) ; shorn lambs, 7s; cull lambs, 4s. v ' ' ■ . .
