ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

» A FOOTBALLER KILLED. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, this day. A fatal accident occurred on Saturday fternoon at a football match between .iburban teams from Kingsland and Mount albert. During the play a young man amed Walter Chatwin came into violent ollision with another player. Chatwin ran off the field and fell down 3an unconscious state. Medical aid was ummoned, but Chatwin died in twenty ninutes from the effects of the shock. V\ hile Alfred Reid and T. Hearne were rorking on the Crown Mines tramway at Carangahake, a big fall of earth occurred, learne escaped with a few bruises, but loid had his skull split open and was renlered unconscious. A distressing accident occurred on Sept. 26th at Mareretu, Auckland, when a little girl, the daughter of Mr Taylor, of that place, fell from her hcrse, and being dragged for some distance sustained concussion of the brain. Dr Carolan, of Matakohe was in attendance, but the little girl died on September 28th. The following week a't.Batley, in the same distiict, Messrs Macefield and Todd were injured by a cow which rushed them when they were taking away her calf. The former had his leg broken.
