ATTEMPT TO BURN A TRANSPORT.
ARREST OF A LAMPTRIMMER. (Received Feb. 27, 9.45 a.m.) Capetown, Feb. 26. While the transport Maori King, with the Queensland contingent aboard, was off Madagascar, a lamptrimmer was arrested for attempting to set fire to the vessel. The Tasmanian contingent has left Capetown for the front. fThs Maori King is the vessel which, whilst lying at Brisbane wharf preparing for the reception of the contingent, was found to be ou fire under suspicious circumstances, attributed at the time to Boer sympathisers aboard the ship.]
