In searching for the cauae, suspicion fell on the tea they had used. A BBmple taken from a one pound tin in use was analysed and found to contain strong tracen of muriatic acid, the presence of whioh is caused by the use of spirits of salts iv welding the parts of tin together. The analyst warns consumers that tea packed in small tine, owing to its very absorbent nature, ia very liable to become impregnated with this acid, and therefore dangerous for human consumption, and advißes that the very safest package to purohase in that packed in lead with an inside ' lining of vegetable parohment.
