NEWS OF THE WAR.

THE RELIEF OF LADYSMITH. A SEVERE TASK BKFORE GENERAL CLERY. The London correspondent of the Timeß of India cabled to that journal on Nov. 20th ;— lt is understood that General Clery will have about 10,000 infantry and a few batteries with which to relieve Ladysmith. Up to the present no regular cavalry have reached Durban from the reinforcements sent out. It is generally felt that Geiieral Clery will have a severe task before him, as the country around Estcourt is simply bursting with the enemy. The despatch published by the Times of India of the attack on Ladysmith on November 9 was duly revised by the press censor. It is regarded as encouraging, and proving Sir Ueorge White's capacity to^atrike when opportunity offers.
