MESSAGE FROM THE AGENT-GENERAL.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, this day. The Premier has received the following cable message from the Agent-General at London : — "Nothing is known as to the events which have occurred in South Africa since Saturday. "There is considerable speculation as to the whereabouts of General Clery's brigade in Natal. "Corrected returns of Methuen's campaign show Highland Brigade 213 killed. "The nation is anxious, but is showing plenty of apirit. Volunteers are offering wholesale."
