A conference of Premiers of Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland has deeidad to continue to pay tho cost of administration of New Guinea out of the accumulated surplus till Marcli 31st. Another conference will be held later on to decide what action shall be taken with reference to the cabled statement that the New Guinea land syndicate concession has been disallowed. The Premier states nothing officially ia known about it at present. (Received Jan. 24, 9.10 a.m.) Jan. 24.— 0 f late the public have shown little disposition to take up credit foncier bonds, and the Savings Bank subscribed the whole of the latest issue.
