THE GATTON MURDEES.

The latest police theory is that after the Gatton murder was committed one of the perpetrators increased his immunity from arrest by shooting his accomplice. Black trackers are vigorously searching for the Lody. The police authoratively deny that Michael Murphy was mutilated. (Received Jan. 24, 9.15 a.m.) Jan. 24. — Several persons without hesitation picked out Burgess from fifteen others as the man who was seen at the slip-rails of Moran's paddock on the night of the murder. They also clearly identified him as the man seen in the locality about the date of the tragedy.
