OUR MEAT EXPORTS.
We are indebted to Messrs Common, Shclton, and Company for a copy of tho summary of fro/en moat exports from New -^ Zealand for the .six months ending 31st December, 1808, compiled by Messrs D.iJ^ety and Company, Ltd., for the Shaw, iSavill, and Albion Company, Ltd., which cime to band by mail this morning. In this it is shown that the exports of frozen niuU.oll from fiisborne for the &ix months ended olst December, IS9S, totalled 3,.")5J,20-Jll).s, ngniiist 2,,")38,45i)1bs for the same period List year, showing an increaso of exports for same period of 1,0-J0,7151b5. It may be interesting to show the following shipments since the trade wag established here : — Year ending 30th June. Carcases Cm-cases ISSIO ... 3!1,527 IS9j ... 53,580 18iH ... .">!),()!)7 ISCIi ... 8..,] 83 IS'J2 ... 39,213 1897 ... 80,628 1593 ..'. .10,434 1898 ... 157,203 1594 ... -12,(300 \ On 30th June, 1897, there were in store 18,000 carcases, which arc included in 1595 .shipment.
