[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, To-day. Jas. Tepua will go with the athletic team to Dunedin in place nf Hori Erucra, the pole juniper. In response to a letter from the New South Wales Union suggesting that Union riders should be sent across to compete at the Auckland Club's Carnival, it was decided by the Amateur Athletic and Cycling Ciub lo forward a cordial invitation to the Union to send riders to the Club's carnival in March. YV'ELLINGTON. To-day. The proceedings at the Roman Catholic Synod begin on Sunday, and will not be open to the press. The deliberations are intended for the guidance of the clergy, and at the close of the conference will be printed in Latin and distributed throughout the parishes.
