Captain Edwin wired tin's afternoon as follows:—■" Gale from north-east and north and west at all places northward of Napier j and New Plymouth, and from north to 'j east and south-east elsewhere. Uarometer .. fall everywhere. Sea heavy on all west coast, also on east coast north of East Cape and south of Napier. Tides high on both coasts, and decreasing between Napier and East Cape. Rain is probable in all parts ' of the colony." . I $
