Knowing that Mr McKouzio purposed paying v viMt to the Old Country at an early date, Mr Weddcl oliered to show him runnel while in London, and generally to place all his experience in Llio matter of frozen meat ,it tho disposal of the -Minister, who would thus lie enabled lo arrive at his own conclusions. In aerepting the oiler thus made, Mr MoKcnzio expressed his great confidence in the future of New Zealand, and said that no equal area of land in any part of the world could produce as many sheep, or the same high quality of mutton, as New Zealand. Mr Wecldel remarked that the comparative sacrifice made during the Jubilee year, when there had been ;i glut of New Zealand lambs on the London market, and prices had gone down to an unprecedented extent, had done good by inducing further consumption, and had materially assisted the sales in IS9S. As far as he could sec, the lamb trade of New Zealand was now practically an assured success.
