The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports having held its usual monthly stock sale, on Thursday, 12th inst. Attendance considering the busy season was good. Cattle : Bidding was very slow. Prime beef would bring good prices, but the entry yesterday only comprised light beef, which sold at £3 for cows and heifers, and £3 15s for steers. Store cattle were mostly passed in. Sheep: We sold light mutton, wethers, at Bs, fat ewes Gs 2d to 7s, store wethers in forward condition 7s Sd, cull owes Is 6d. We recommend consignments of store wether's and ewes fit for fattening. Messrs Williams and Kettle report having held their monthly stock sale at the Matawhero yards on the 12th inst., when there was a large attendance. The entry of sheep was very moderate, although all lots yarded changed bands at very satisfactory prices. Cattle : There was a large entry, and good prices were obtained. We quote, fat ewes, in wool, 10s 7d ; fullmouth ewes, in wool, 8a 3d ; woolly lambs 3s 9<l ; shorn lambs, small 2s 3d ; shorn cull ewes, Is 6d to 2s 3d. Rams : We offered a splendid line of stud Lincoins, but buyers seemed inclined to wait a little longer, a few sales were effected afterwards, and the balance are now op'*n for private sale. Cattle : Fat cows, £4 ; springing heifers, £2 12s 6d to £3 ; 24 to 30 month steers, £2 Js to £3 Is ; and yearling heifers, 355 ; 18 to 24 months' steers and heifers, £1 5s to £1 10s. Pigs : prime porkers, 16s. Our next sale will be held at the Waerenga-a-hika yards.
