(Elcctrio Telegraph-Copyright— United Press Association.) Brisbane, Jan. 10. The murder charge against Burgess was withdrawn, aud a charge of theft was preferred against him. Much confusion exists about the arrests. It is now stated that the Bundaberg arrest is for Hill's murder. It is believed that the man wanted for the Ipswich crimes had no hand in Hill's affair. Jan. 11.— A female servant, resident ■within seven hundred yards of the Gatton tragedy, stated to the police that at about ten o'clock at night she- heard two shots and a woman screaming, " Oh father, save me." She attached no importance to the matter, and took no notice. Another residontalso heard shots and screams, but treated them similarly. Albany, Jan. 10. ' Wilson, wanted on suspicion of having committed unnatural offences at Ipswich, Queensland, has been arrested here. Received Jan. 11, 11.45 a.m.) Melbocrne, Jan. 11. Wilson i who was arrested at Albany, was ■ formerly a teacher at the Warnambool College, and at Adelaide and Broken Hill. He acted as lay reader and Sunday school teacher in several churches. A few days ago he wrote to two clergymen with whom be was formerly connected from Melbourne, asking for mouey as he urgently needed to go to Adelaide.
