FRANCE AND ENGLAND.
(Elststtic Telegraph-Cowrlght— United Press Association.) London, Jan. 9. The Standard confirms the statement that M.M. Dupuy and Delcasse desire a friendly understanding with Great Britain in regard to all outstanding differences. It adds that French journals showing hostility to Buch an understanding are not inspired. Jan. 10.— Austrian and Germau newspapers accuse Great Britain of provoking France. France has withdrawn her demand for extension of concessions in Shanghai.
