* Electric Telegraph-Copyright— United Frees Afflocintloo. (Received Jan. 9, 8.50 a.m.) Shanghai, Jan. 8. China has accorded satisfaction for the recent ill-treatment of German missionaries at Shantung. The American Government have protested against the exclusive extension of French territory in Shanghai, and urge that foreign settlements be enlarged on an international basis. Pakis, Jan. 8. France is sending half a battalion of troops to Tonquin to be in readiness for developments in Siam.
