Captain Edwin wired at 1.24 this aiternoon: — "Wind, heavy gale, with rain, from west to south-west and. south at all places. Barometer further fall at all places north of Timaru and Queenstown, out rising after from six to twelve hours. Sea very heavy on coast south of East Cape. Tides high."
