UAWA ATHLETIC CLUB.

The above club's annual sports were held i on the Tolago Bay racecourse on Monday, January 2nd. The weather was fine, but , warm, and there was a, large attendance. i The events were all well contested, and ; the entries above the average. The Hack Race was voted the best race ever seen on i the course, Lady Albert winning by a bare : length, with the eight others in a bunch • behind her. The officials discharged their duties in an able and energetic manner, i adding much to the success of the meeting. ■ The following are the results : — Maiden • Race, 120 yards : A. Trent 1, Rawhiti i 2 j 3 entries. Boys' Handicap (under i 16), 150 yds: Rua 1, Apata 2; 9 entries. : Uawa Handicap, 100 yds : J. Wilson (6yds) . 1, A.
