A GARDEN FETE, In Aid of the Funds of Holy Trinity Clnireh, will be held in the WAIKANAE PADDOCKS, ON THURSDAY, 12th JANUARY, 1809, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The CITY BAND have kindly consented to play Selections during the Evening. PROGRAMME — Outek Grounds, from 2 P.M. TO 3 I.M. Girls and Boys' Races, Sack Races, etc., etc., under supervision of Captain Winter. Prizes presented by Mrs Browne, and Messrs Townley, Dalrymple, Crawford, and Cottrell. From 3.30 to 4.30 p.m., under Captain Winter.— Tilting at the Ring, Lemon Cutting, Tent Pegging (all necessaries provided). Prizes presented by Messrs W. Morgan, Primrose, and Williams. Entrance, Is. Best Decorated Bicycle (ladies), entrance Is : first and second prizes, Gold Brooch in case, and 21s, presented by Messrs Good and Townley (winner to have option). The same (gentlemen), entrance Is ; prize, Trophy valued at 21s, presented by Messrs Miller and Ormond. Best Decorated Perambulator or Go-cart; entrance Is; prizes, Ist Ms, 2nd 7s, 3rd si. Best Decorated Vehicle ; entrance Is ; prize, Horse shod for six months by Humphreys and Davys, Entries for these competitions to be made on or before 4 p.m. on the day of Fete, to Mr Ranger or Mr Ferris, Pea Rifle Shooting on the banks of the Waikanae, under the supervision of Mr G. Humphreys. INNER GROUNDS. From 2 p.m. to s p.m.— Rounders, Swings, Driving the Nail, Threading the Needle, Aunt Sally ; Lucky Tub, the Misses ; Refreshment Stall, Miss Gray. TEA from 5 to 6.30 p.m. 6.30 P.M. — Handicap of 75 Yards for the Incumbent, Officers and Members of Vestry. Forced nomination of Is each. Prize presented by Mr Hennessy. 7 to 8 p.m.— Amusements, Rounders, Swings, Tug-of-war (country ladies v. Gisborne ladies). BTO 10 p.m.— The City Band will play selections for the amusement of the visitors, and coffee will be supplied ivt 9 p.m. 10 p.m.—" God Save the Queen." N.B.— General and Only Entrance : Mrs Humphreys' Gate, Carnarvon Street. Visitors are requested to provide themselves with tickets either at the gate or beforehand, which may be inspected by the Committee at any time. All horses and vehicles must be handed over to the Caretaker, who will place them in a secure paddock at a charge of 6d per horse. Admission' : Adults (to view all sports, etc., from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., including tea at 5 p.m.), 2s per head ; famil es of four adults and over, Is 6d head ; children from 6 to 15 years, Is head ; under, free.
