Captain Edwin wired at 1.30 this afternoon .— " Wind strong from between north and east and south-east with rain at all places northward of Napier, Taupo, and New Plymouth, and Btrong from between north-east and north and west elsewhere. Barometer fall everywhere. Sea heavy on all east coast north of East Cape. Tides good and increasing on both coasts."
