BOWLING.
Besides the ordinary practice games the first of the champion matches was played on Saturday, the holders of the medals from last season in the fours having to meet a team skipped by Mr J. Colotniui, over whom they secured a victory by 5 points. Another challenge from a fresh team was immediately posted. In the champion singles Mr W. O. Skcet, last season's champion, has to meet Mr J. W. Witty, and the final heat of the first round of the pairs will be played during the week. In each instance the medals have to be won three times in succession. Four new members, namely : Messrs Jaa. Craig, • T. Garrett, J..E..Whitby, and R. N. Jones were elected on Thursday. Practice has been freely indulged in by members, and aF the club has received an acquisition of 23 new members all the rinks should be in full swing on Thursdays and Saturdays. Tea was kindly provided by Mrs Colcman and Mrs Brooking. Below is the score in the champion fours match : — Holders. Challemiers.
