Mr Wilson Barrett's theatrical company sailed for Australia in the Oratava. .£750,000 worth of 34 per cent, debentures, issued at par by the Board of the New Zealand Realisation Assets Company, have been issued. Mr Joseph Walton, Liberal, lias been elected by a majority of 2290 for the vacancy for BiU'iisley division, Yorkshire, caused by the succession of Lord Compton to the Peerage. ATHENS, Oct. 29. The representatives of Russia, America, and Japan have, in connection with the Behring Sea fisheries, recommended a suspension of pelagic sealing, provided Great Britain and Canada will agree. Obituary : Heniy George, the single tax advocate, from apoplexy, brought on by exhaustion and overwork. It was recently announced that Mr George was the nominee elect of the Socialists for- the mayoralty of Greater New York.
