FOOTBALL.
Bathurst, July 5. Saturday's play was sufficiently rough to prevent some of the New South Wales players taking part in next Saturday's match. Warbriek sustained an injury to the head, and, with Abbott, will be unable to play. The manager of the New Zealand team, Mr I. Hyanis, found it advisable to strengthem them and cabled for Roberts. It is unfortunate the team having to play two mid-week matches, especially if any man bo hurt at Orange, which is likely to put a very heavy team in the field. The following play to-morrow: — Back, Smith; threequarters, Orchard, Allen and Aniiit ; five-eighth, Bayly ; half, Humphreys ; wings, McKenzie and filciiuic ; forwards, Hancock, Harris, Pauling, Biookcr, Blair, Wilson and Murray. Wellington', to-day. Roberts, the well-known Poncke threequarter hack, leaves for Sydney by the Monowai on Saturday to replace Duncan, who was disabled in Saturday's match.
