(fas was struck in the now bore, and petroleum oil showed freely, but later in the afternoon the seaming in the bottom of the casing gave way and water from above rushed in. It is expected that the water will be shut oil' shortly. The company intends getting another plant with the object of boring inland. Two plants will then be kept going constantly. It is expected that inland the dilliculties with water will be avoided. This is the fourth bore in which oil has been struck, showing there is an extensive deposit in the locality.
