The Prisoner Kirby.
Auckland, to-day. When the Waihora arrived from Sydney yesterday a considerable crowd assembled on the wharf in expectation that ex-detective Kirby would be brought off the steamer and taken to Wellington by the Takapuna which left Ouehunga, but Sergeant Kiely deemed it best to proceed right on through to Wellington by the Waihura and the assemblage ■ dispersed without getting a glimpse of the prisoners. The prisoners were brought to • the steamer in Sydney in two cabs. Kirby is in a forward cabin specially fitted up. He was constantly watched on the trip across being occasionally taken on deck for exeroioe. He is in good health and in fairly good, spirits.
