London, June 19. Quaife and Lilley, the two not out men, carried their totals to 67 and 17 respectively. The former was caught by Kelly off Trott, and the latter was bowled by MoKibbin. Other batting Bcores were: Davidson, run out, 16 ; Hill, not out, 16 ; Attewell, caught Eady, bowled McKibbin, 20. Trott took 2 wickets for 32, Jones 3 for 66, McKibbin 4 for 94. June 20. — In the Midland Counties' first innings Lilley's wicket fell with the score at 174. Jones gave a vigorous display of batting.

June 21.— 0n Saturday Surrey underwent their first defeat this year, Lancashire putting the champions down. Yorkshire so far has not been beaten by any other county.
