TECHNICAL AND MANUAL INSTRUCTION.

! [To tot Editor op tub Herald.] ; Sir, — Mr Good's üble letter requires no further support. The time is evidently ripe for action, and the meeting he has convened, with the willing co-operation of the chairman of the School Committee, should set the movement for the establishment of technical classes on immediate practical and permanent lines. I should like to repeat what experience has taught elsewhere, that the measure of auccesa achieved will largely depend upon the young men who hope to benefit not only attending the meeting, but being found willing to asßume the control and management of tho classes establiahed. Technical claases need not be confined to instruction in subjects of mere utility. These should be in the fore-ground. Room may still be left for photography, electricity, the uae of the spectroscope, and many other objects or studies, all or any of which tend to make life fuller and happier. O. A. DeLautour. j
