[Pjsr Press Association.] WELLINGTON, To-day. Mr Walter Brown, who has been in business here as an importer of machinery for some years, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. He left his business at 1 p.m. with the intention of going home as he was feeling unwell, and died a few minutes later. He leaves a wife and six children. Mr Coleman Phillips, a well, known / resident of the Wairarapa district, speaking at Greytown, announced that he would be an independent candidate at the general election, possibly for the Wairarapa seat. A firm of solicitors in Auokland have written to the Mayor of Wellington re the offer of a Wellington syndicate to undertake electrical tramways, and urge that no concession be granted until an opportunity be given to such persons as may be desirous of competing for such concession.
