London, June 16. At Dr Jameson's trial Sir Edward Clark Baid it was doubtful if the Foreign Enlistment Act was operative in Mafoking, and certainly it did not apply to Pitsani. Dr Jameson admitted "that he himself was solely responsible for the raid.
Replying to a question in the House of Lords, Lord Salisbury said he must refuse to open a Parliamentary inquiry into the entrance of Dr Jameson's party iuto tbe Transvaal till the verdict of the Court waa dolivered.
