Through the good offices of Lord Glasgow, the British Admiralty has extended to the Porb Nicholson Yachb Club (Wellington) the privilege of flying the blue ensign of Her Majesty's fleet. This is the fourth club in the Australasian colonies that holds the privilege, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney each having a club possessing a similar honor. H.M.S. Katoomba, with the disabled warship Rapid in tow, left this morning 'for Lyttelton. A return from 46 of the principal telegraph offices for a period from the Bth to I3th June (inclusive) gives the following results :— Ordinary telegrams 23,808, value £1054 { urgenb telegrams 1530, value £143. Compared with the business done at the same offices during a period of Ist to 7th June (exclusive of Sunday), there is an increase in the number of ordinary telegrams of 10 per cent. , and an increase of 64 per cent, in the number of urgent telegrams. The total revenue from both ordinary and urgenb telegrams decreased by 1 per cent, compared with the May period. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day.
