Wellington, to-day. i The Wellington Racing Club will hold a two day's meeting on the 22nd and 25th of July. The programme will be issued tarly next week and will include steeplechases, both open and for hunters, and some flat races. The added munev will be about £1000. "

some sensation was created in the township of Cobden, Victoria, recently, by the vagaries of a large bull. The animal was being driven down the street, when without much warning he rushed through tho glass doors into the banking chambers of the National Bank, Only the staff were in the office, and they were on the opposite side of a counter. The bull soon found out for himself that it is easier to get into a bank than out of it, and finding it impossible to return by the door he had entered he endeavored to burst through the iron-barred window. He succeeded in smashing the windows, but by the timo this was accomplished a'gang of men had been procured, and the bull, twbo had settled down into something like a fixed deposit, was roped and led out. This slight acquaintance with banking business appears to have favorably impressed the animal, for about an hour afterwards he rushed along the road and succeeded once more in forcing his way into the bank. He was again roped and led out.
