London, Jan. 25. A leading Queensland firm is arranging to establish meat extract works in the vicinity of the Gulf of Carpentaria. A large quantity of the Gulf of Siams' frozen meat is being distributed among charities by the Lord Mayor. At the wool sales there is keen competition with a tendency to advance. The present series close on the 29th. Jan. 26. — The Australasian Mortgage and Agency Company shows a profit for the year of £39,898.
