Caledonian Society's Gathering.
The entries for tho running events for the gathering on February 4th closed ou Saturday night, and were more satisfactory than on any previous occasion. The mile was the favorite event with 25 entries. For the four open events no less than 01 nominations were received, 13 of which are from outside, coming from Napier, Hastings, Danevirke, Frasertown, and Wairoa, while tho various parts of the district aro well represented, The following are the entries : — Maiden Race.— F.
