The Sun Libel Action.
Christchukch, to-day. At the Supreme Court the defendant's in the libel action Worthington v. Hornsby applied for a postponement of the trial on the ground that he wished to obtain a Commission to take evidence in America, and had requested the. United States Consult at Aucklaud to furnish him with the names of some gentlemen in Chicago to whom the Commission could issue, and of some respectable firm of lawyers there whom he would ask to conduct the enquiry on behalf of the defendant. The application was adjourned till Tuesday week to allow of the receipt of a reply from 1 the Consul, His Honor intimating that he. thought it reasonable the defendant should be allowed an opportunity of obtaining evidence in America.
