At Birkenhead recently, the captain of a steamship from Buenos Ayres was fined £22 for omitting to slaughter three oxen which had been landed in a most shocking condition from broken limbs, broken ribs and other iu juries. From the evidence ib transpired that over fjfty cattle and nearly 100 Bheep were lost overboard or died during tjje voyage
