Shanghai, August 18. The Court which enquired into the sinking of the Kowshiag found that Captain Goldsworthy and his coll«*gues were deserving of the highest praise for their judgment and coolness, under trying circumstances, and further, that they did all in their power to save the vessel.
August 19. — A camber of Chinese troops in Core* are committing suicide, owing to sickness.
August 20.— The Chinese troops insulted and fired on a number of English employee* at Weihaiwai arsenal, because they ceased work upon the outbreak of war. •-4 The Wtehaiwai harbor was believed to be impregnable, bat the Japanese ganboats forced the boats oa several occasions and explored the inner harbor. The Coraan contingent assisted the Japanese against the Chinese at Yaaean.
Loxnox, August 18. The Times' Yokohama correspondent declares that capitalist* have guaranteed a sum of £16,000,000 for war purposes. The Voesiche Z«itung, a Berlin paper, considers that lending money to China is a crime against the civilised world.
The Japanese have laid torpedoes at Nagasaki. Tokio and Yokohama. The German Asiatic Bank in Berlin is floating the Chinese million loan at 5 per cent.
Owing to the Chimes* firing on and killing the medical officers, aad causing an explosion in th» field hospitals, the Japanese would not admit the adherents of the Red Cross into Cores.

Tkckhdat Isxakd, August 21. The steamer Gnthrie has arrived here from EasUrn port*. The capUia raporU that when off the coast af Japan h« was chsaed by two torpedo cruisers, which aade off after satisfying themselves that the Gnthrie was not carrying Chinese troops.
