A lady's maid foil into the sea m crossing by the gangway from an Atlantic steamer to the shore at Liverpool. She sued the shipowners, claiming £100 damages, ai'egingthat her fall wa3 due to the absence of proper guard-rails to the gangway. The defendants said they were protected by certain conditions printed on the passengers' tickets. A jury awarded the lady the amount claimed, and the Appeal Court has declined to upset that decision.
