WOOL SALES.
London, Feb. 7. — The wool sales have closed, prices being firm at about par with the opening rates. Medium to good staple wools were very firm, while the best grade of merino faulties and heavy greasics were at par to five per cent, below the closing rates of December sales. For the season just closed 269,000 bales were catalogued, of which the home trade took 89,000 bales, Continental buyers 13,900 bales, and United States buyers 1,000 bales. The quantity held over amounted to 40,000 bales.
