[By Telegraph.— Pre-r Association.] WELLINGTON, To-day. A peculiar will case was before the Supreme Court from AVauganui, Batson v. Morgan and Green. The will was apparently copied from a form given m almanacs, and said " I give and devise to my widow, but left a space blank. The will was badly spelt and ill written. This was a friendly suit to determine whether the widow was entitled to the whole of the property. There are eight children, and the amount involved is only £200. Justice Richmond reserved his decision until he had seen the will. Mr J. E. FitzGerald has been re-elected president of the Public Service Association of New Zealand, while Lieut. -Colonel Hume aud Mr E. Bamford have been elected vicepresidents for the North Island and Messrs H. W. Bishop and C. W. S. Chamberlain for the South Island. Mr J. F. Glasgow has been elected to the Council as representative of the heads of departments. The number of bankruptcies m Wellington during 1893 was 52, as against 48 the previous year. There has been an exceptionally heavy mortality among sheep during the past year, especially m Central Otago. In one of the best known stations of 21,000 sheep only 12,000 could be mustered for shearing. In another rrirf the mortality was about 33 per cent. The holders of small grazing runs have suffered severely. , - REEFTON, To-day. v John Anderson, a miner of Graville, was committed for trial for impersonation at, the kite general election. HAVELOCK, To-day. G. Casitanm was to-day committed to trial for sheep-stealing.
