Election Petitions.
WAITEMATA ELECTION. Auckland, yesterday. — Evidence to noon to-day m the Waitemata election case wag a repetition of that given by previous witnesses as to their being given beer or tickets for beer on the understanding that they were going to vote for Monk. The real question at issue is how far the agency of young Monk and Gibbes is established. The case may last all the week. WELLINGTON ELECTION. Wellington, yesterday.— When Mr Jellicoe's motion for particulars m the petition against Sir Robert Stput came on, it was aereed to postpone it till after the hearing of the preliminary objections on the 20th inst. If they succeed, the case will fall to the ground ; if not the motion will be argued, and if granted the further hearing adjourned or a week.
