Loan and Mercantile.
Auckland, to-day. The Judge of the Supreme Court has granted an application by the Loan and Mercantile, and appointed Mr Battle}'', the general manager, provisional liquidator in the colony for the company. The appointment is understood to be purely formal. It enables deeds to be executed and confers other requisite powers on the liquidator for the protection of the business and the assets of the company pending reconstruction. It is expected that the result of the reconstruction scheme of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company will be known on the 7th inst. '
